“Success is the product of daily habits—not once-in-a-lifetime transformations.”

You want to learn a new skill, a new language, lose weight, build muscle or just shake some bad habit...  But it’s too hard and you’ve failed multiple times before and you are losing patience.  Sound familiar?  We all have our own individual goals and aspirations, but how do we achieve them by doing as little as possible?   The reason you haven’t achieved your goals is NOT YOUR FAULT.  Poorly designed behaviour-change programmes, from diets to fitness regimes and beyond are designed to set people up to fail.  Your motivation drops, bars and expectations are set too high, you are not made to feel successful.  Instead, make small incremental changes, keep the bar set low and celebrate every single time you stick to those tiny changes.  You can do more if you feel like it (and you will), but you don’t have to.   These are atomic habits and if you haven’t already I would highly recommend reading “Atomic Habits” by James Clear.  An atomic habit is a regular practice or routine that is small and easy to do.  Changes that seem small and unimportant at first will accumulate into remarkable results if you’re willing to stick with them.  Make sure you focus on your current trajectory than with your current results which often may not be visible externally.  Its worth remembering that small changes often appear to make no difference until you cross a critical threshold.  Just like atoms are the building blocks of molecules, atomic habits are the building blocks of remarkable results  You need to be patient.  A quote from the book to finish off - “Getting 1 percent better every day counts for a lot in the long-run.”
